The Company was founded more than 85 years ago. On October 2002, a group of investors acquired Tostadora El Dorado and set the goal of becoming the leading company in the commercialization of coffee in Costa Rica as well as one of the most important distributions on country
Tostadora El Dorado is a company engaged in the production and trade of coffee and other mass consumption products. The best recognized brands are: “Triángulo de Oro”, “Dorado” and “AMI”
We also distribute other brands to specific sectors, such as: “Triángulo Azul”, “Cristobal”, “Avestruz”, “Nosara”

Costa Rican Coffee History
In the last decade of the 18th century, coffee is brought to Costa Rica
In 1816, the Priest Félix Velarde becomes the first coffee grower in Costa Rica
In 1820, the first coffee export is recorded, which consisted of 100 pounds (a "quintal") exported to Panama
In 1832, coffee was already beinf exported to Chile
Between 1830 and 1840, Costa Rican exporters decided to initiate direct coffee exports to England
Costa Rican is the only country in the world that has issued an executive order (? 19302-MAG, 4 December 1989) banning the production of any variety of coffee other than Arabica. This executive order made possible by the expertise, experience and favorable geographical conditions for remarkable land.
